A 53-year-old Bulgarian citizen in a helpless condition was handed by Greek border authorities to Bulgarian counterparts at the Promachonas-Kulata check point.
The case with Yordan Kuzmanov, a native of Sliven, is the third, after a second case of a famished Bulgarian emigrant returned from Greece occured in the beginning of May.
According to Greek authorities, the Bulgarian national is being returned to his home country after spending 9 months of treatment at a Greek hospital.
Initial reports have it that Kuzmanov made his living in Greece as a homeless person, scavenging for materials to be re-sold and recycled.
This is contrast to his other two fellows in misfortune, who had done odd jobs as workers in Greece before being returned.
"The man exhibits an impaired general condition, renal insufficiency and hypertonia," stated Krasimir Mihaylov, the director of Blagoevgrad hospital where Kuzmanov was transported.
According to doctors, the man also has a problem with alcohol abuse; at the time of his admission to hospital, he was not communicating coherently.
