The European Commission is reporting Monday before the European Parliament on measures it has taken to lift Canadian visa regime for Bulgaria, Romania and the Czech Republic.

These are the last three countries in the European Union that sill have visa restrictions with Canada, the Bulgarian National Radio, BNR, reported.

Some Members of the European Parliament have voiced the opinion that the lifting of the visa regime must be bind with the current trade agreement negotiations between Canada and the EU.

"We hope EC and the Council will give the issue a priority status in the trade negotiations, because a key part of it addresses free movement of business people and citizens," Bulgarian MEP from the ruling, center-right Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria party, GERB, Andrey Kovachev, is quoted saying.

Kovachev is one of the initiators of the idea.

The monthly session of the EP, which begins in Strasburg Monday will focus on investments for employment and growth.
