Turkey's PM to Arrive on Quick Visit to Bulgaria Friday

Turkey's Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan will visit Bulgaria on Friday, May 18, it has been announced.

Erdogan's busy schedule will limit his visit to the country to just a couple of hours.

Ahead of the Turkish PM's visit to Bulgaria, Turkish media have reminded that Bulgarian Foreign Minister Nikolay Mladenov recently declared his country's readiness to cooperate with Turkey in the field of military production.

Erdogan is also expected to discuss with Bulgarian officials the expected construction of a natural gas interconnection pipeline between Bulgaria and Turkey, which is to allow the former to receive gas supplies from Azerbaijan.

The gas link between Bulgaria and Turkey is expected to be finished in 2014.
