Bulgarian Roma pop folk diva, Sofi Marinova, who will represent the country in the 2012 Eurovision contest, has left for Baku.

She will perform in the capital of Azerbaijan on May 24.

Marinova took a flight Monday morning to Istanbul and Baku will be her next stop, according to the Bulgarian National Television, BNT.

The second semi-final, which will feature the Bulgarian representative, coincides with the Day of Slavic Script and Culture.

BNT will air live the semi-finals and the May 26 final.

Marinova is traveling with her young son Lorenzo because she believes he is bringing her luck. The design of her dress is surrounded by complete secrecy and the only thing that has emerged so far is that it will be a combination of white and gold.

The singer was chosen at the end of February by the BNT viewers and became the first ever pop folk singer to represent the country in Eurovision. 19 countries will take part in the second semi-final on May 24 – they are the only ones that can vote for the Bulgarian song. Of them, 10 will go to the final on May 26.

Marinova performs the song "Love Unlimited" in Bulgarian.
