Light Earthquake Registered in Bulgaria's Eastern Rhodope Mountains

A light earthquake with a magnitude of 2.9 on the Richter scale has been registered 250 kilometers southeast of Sofia and 20 kilometers south of Krumovgrad, according to the European Mediterranean Seismological Center.

The quake was registered at 1.40 a.m. local time in the region of the Bulgarian-Greek border.

The jolt occurred at a depth of 2 kilometers.

No material damage or injuries have been reported.
