European Parliament President Martin Schultz will arrive in Bulgaria on Thursday on the invitation of interim PES President Sergey Stanishev.

Schultz is set to deliver a lecture on Europe's way out of the crisis in Sofia-based University "St. Kliment Ohridski," the Bulgarian National Television has informed. The lecture is organized by the university, the Bulgarian Atlantic Club and the Friedrich Ebert Foundation.

German social democrat Martin Schultz was elected President of the European Parliament following a vote in Strasbourg on January 17 2012. He won against two competitors, Diana Wallis, a liberal but running as an independent, and Nirj Deva, from the center-right European Conservatives and Reformists (ECR) group.

Schultz will lead the EP until the next round of European elections in June 2014.
