Italian Club Lazio Wants Berbatov - Report

Italian football club Lazio is reported to join in the bidding for purchasing Bulgarian striker Dimitar Berbatov from Manchester United.

Lazio President Claudio Lotito and sporting director Igli Tare have already talked to the club coach Edoardo Reja on seeking to get Berbatov, Italian site Calcionline reported.

The Bulgarian striker is almost certainly going to be out of United in the summer when his contract expires, and reports have been popping up in the past year of various teams across Europe seeking to buy him.

According to Bulgarian sports site, if Lazio makes it to the Champions' League qualifications, it will certainly double its efforts to acquire Berbatov.

Various publications claim that German Bundesliga teams Bayern Munich, Bayer Leverkusen, and Borusia Dortmund as well as the Turkish Galatasaray are eager to get Berbatov. Other reports have said that Berbatov might be bought in Spain or remain in England.

The 31-year-old Berbatov has spend 4 years in United but he was rarely given a chance to play in the past year.
