Four explosions shook the Ukrainian city of Dnepropetrovsk on Friday, leaving at least 14 people injured, according to reports.

The blasts struck in series at various locations in downtown Dnepropetrovsk.

The first explosion went off as a tram carrying a large number of people pulled into a stop injuring five passengers, according to RT. Local authorities say it was caused by a bomb planted in a nearby garbage bin.

Forty minutes later, a second explosion occurred close to the city's railway station, wounding seven people. The third one took place in a park and injured one woman.

There are no details on the fourth explosion, RT says.

Ukraine is to co-host the UEFA European Football Championship this summer.
