Belgium far-right party Vlaams Belang (Flemish Interest) opened Tuesday a website for tip-offs for crimes committed by illegal immigrants.

The meldpuntillegaliteit.be website will accept anonymous signals for about social security fraud, work on the black market and more serious crimes, news portal euractiv reported.

Vlaams Belang leader Filip Dewinter pointed out that the website had been created because of the tens of thousands of illegal immigrants residing in Belgian cities and the problems they were creating.

He noted that the tip-offs received on the website would be referred to the police.

In early February, the far-right Dutch Freedom Party (PVV) launched a similar website inviting people to send complaints about nuisance caused by the "massive" influx of job seekers from Poland, Romania and Bulgaria.

On March 15, the European Parliament (EP) adopted a resolution condemning the initiative of the PVV.
