Daniel Mitov, Petar Nikolov, Proshko Proshkov and Hristo Angelichin are officially withdrawing from the right-wing Democrats for Strong Bulgaria (DSB) party.

According to unofficial reports cited by news portal mediapool.bg, the four are joining the "Bulgaria for Citizens" movement of former EU Commissioner Meglena Kuneva.

"We shall not tolerate anybody presenting our participation in politics as their investment program. The abuse in this metaphor and the light-hearted manner in which it was uttered by the leader of DSB leaves us with no reason to continue to be a part of the political force that we established eight years ago," the four said in a statement on Monday.

So far, none of the four has officially confirmed about having had talks with Kuneva.

Proshko Proshkov, who ran for Sofia Mayor at the end-October elections in 2011 on the ticket of the Blue Coalition (comprising the Union of Democratic Forces (UDF) and DSB), resigned from the governing body of DSB in end-March, voicing sharp criticism at the policy pursued by the party.

Daniel Mitov, who was Deputy Chair of the party, announced his resignation from DSB's governing body earlier on Monday.

Petar Nikolov participated in DSB's governing body from October 2009 to 2011.

Hristo Angelichin is a former Sofia municipal councilor from DSB (2007 - 2011) and was a member of the governing body of the party from 2008 to 2012.
