Greece Firmly Demands EUR 95 B in WWII Reparations from Germany

The Greek authorities do not intend to stop urging Germany to pay more compensation for the Nazi occupation of Greece during World War II, according to a government spokesperson.

Greece claims between EUR 70 B and EUR 95 B in reparations from Germany, the Greek Foreign Ministry spokesperson Grigoris Delavekouras has confirmed, as cited by BTA.

He has thus reiterated an earlier statement by the Greek Foreign Minister Stavros Dimas.

Germany claims that it has already paid all the money it owed Greece for the Nazi occupation.

Well-known Greek anti-Nazi activist Manolis Glezos has called this statement of Germany | "angering". Glezos is known as a man who tore off a Nazi flag with a swastika from the Acropolis in Athens in 1941.
