Bulgaria's President Rosen Plevneliev will visit Italy on March 30 on the invitation of his Italian counterpart Giorgio Napolitano.

Plevneliev's trip to Italy will be his first official visit abroad since he assumed office in January, his press office has stated.

Napolitano and Plevneliev are expected to discuss measures that could increase the economic and trade relations between the two countries and boost bilateral investments.

The Bulgarian President, who will be accompanied by Foreign Minister Nikolay Mladenov during his visit, will also meet with President of the Italian Chamber of Deputies Gianfranco Fini.
