US President Barack Obama and Turkish PM Recep Tayyip Erdogan have agreed to send "non-lethal" supplies to anti-government rebels in Syria.

The help to be coordinated between the USA and Turkey is set to include items such as communication equipment, announced an American source quoted by agencies.

The two leaders talked during a meeting in South Korea on the eve of a nuclear security meeting in capital Seoul.

Obama and Erdogan further agreed that the upcoming April 1 Friends of Syria meeting further such aid, including medical materials, must be negotiated.

At the same time, Russian Foreign Affairs Minister Sergey Lavrov spoke against the unilateral support of the Syrian opposition, and said that meetings such as the Friends of Syria cannot resolve the bloody crisis.
