A protest was carried out in front of the Romanian embassy in Sofia by Bulgarian nationalist Ataka party, who rallied against claims by Romania on a disputed Black Sea economic zone segment.

Wednesday Romanian Foreign Minister Cristian Diaconescu renewed discussions about the delimitation of the economic zone in the Black Sea between the two neighbors, in a section that is suspected to be rich in oil and natural gas.

This was interpreted by some in Bulgaria as representing "territorial claims" by Romania on Bulgaria.

Sunday over a hundred gathered in front of the Romanian embassy in Sofia to express their protest, led by Ataka chair Volen Siderov.

Siderov took the occasion to denounce the Bulgarian government headed by PM Boyko Borisov, who according to him mishandled the Romanian case.

This is only the latest example of the severe inadequacy of Borisov's cabinet, argued the nationalist leader.

In addition, Siderov lashed out at ex-Ataka and Siderov family members, MEP Dimitar Stoyanov and estranged wife Kapka Siderova, who Sunday are founding a new political party together with renegade MPs.
