Bulgaria's ruling centrist-right GERB approved the appointment of new Economy and Energy Minister Delyan Dobrev and new Health Minister Desislava Atanasova on Wednesday.

The resignations of Traicho Traikov and Stefan Konstantinov, former Ministers of Economy and Health respectively, were accepted. No motives were listed for their ousting, besides the fact that they "resigned".

The oppositional left-wing Bulgarian Socialist Party and ethnic Turkish Movement for Rights and Freedoms expectedly voted against the cabinet reshuffle, while the two other oppositional formations, right-wing Blue Coalition and far-right Ataka, abstained from voting.

Traikov was allegedly dismissed because of his stance against the construction of a Bulgarian-Russian nuclear power plant in the Danube town of Belene, even though the failed business forum in Qatar last Thursday was cited as the official reason.

Konstantinov was fired because of what Prime Minister Boyko Borisov stated was his inability to cope with increasing medication prices.

Dobrev and Atanasova are both aged 33. Dobrev used to be Traikov's Deputy Minister in charge of energy policies and projects, while Atanasova used to be Chair of the Parliamentary Health Committee. Unlike their predecessors, they are both GERB members.
