A police station in south London had to be evacuated after seven people were injured and in an explosion on Tuesday.

The blast, which started a blaze in the basement of the building in Croydon, was reported at about 11.20 GMT on Tuesday, the BBC reported.

The explosion took place on the police station's firing range.

Five of the injured, including one in a serious condition, were taken to hospital.
