Kosovo's Foreign Ministry has condemned Saturday an overnight attack on the Macedonian Embassy in Pristina.

A Molotov cocktail was thrown last night at around 11 pm on the Macedonian Embassy's building in Pristina. There were no injured persons in the attack only material damage was caused, Kosovo media reported.

Three persons in a white "Toyota" vehicle threw the Molotov cocktail. A police officer, who was on the spot prevented greater damage, Macedonia's MINA agency reported.

"We assess this act of vandalism as fully unacceptable and harmful for friendly relations between our two countries. We demand from investigative organs as soon as possible to clear up the case and perpetrators of this heinous act to be brought to court," reads the press release of Kosovo Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The press release also emphasises the strong determination of the Kosovo institutions for strengthening the good-neighbourly relations with the Republic of Macedonia.

MINA reminds that the Macedonian Embassy's building in Prishtina was stoned last week after a protest organized by a radical group and Unikomb party.

The Macedonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs also strongly condemned the late Friday's attack said it expects that the Kosovo authorities will find and adequately sanction the perpetrators.

The Molotov cocktail incident in Prishtina comes against the backdrop of a growing number of clashes between Macedonians and ethnic Albanians in the western parts of the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia.
