US Slates USD 700 000 for Bulgarians Fulbright Inclusion

The American Congress is slating USD 700 000 for stipends for Bulgarian students for the 2012 Fulbright Program.

The news was reported by the Bulgarian Novinar (News Reporter) daily. The Bulgarian cabinet will give another USD 140 00 for the program.

The deadline for the applications is May 2, 2012, Snezhana Teneva, an education consultant at the Bulgarian-US Commission for Education Exchange "Fulbright" said in a recent interview. There will be 471 stipends for Bulgarians in 2012, she informed.

Sponsored by the United States Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, the Fulbright Program provides funding for students, scholars, teachers, and professionals to undertake graduate study, advanced research, university teaching, and teaching in elementary and secondary schools in the US.
