2 Light Earthquakes Registered in Southern Bulgaria

Two light earthquakes were registered early Thursday in southern Bulgaria, according to data of the European Seismology Center.

The latest quake was of a 2.2 points magnitude on the Richter scale with an epicenter located 21 kilometers northeast of the town of Svilengrad and 28 km northwest of the Turkish city of Edirne, near the Bulgarian-Turkish border, at a depth of 5 km. It was recorded at 7:57 am.

Earlier in the morning, at 5:09 am local time, an earthquake of a 3 points magnitude on the Richter scale has been also registered on Bulgarian territory. It had an epicenter located 26 kilometers southeast of the town of Radnevo, 14 kilometers northwest of the town of Topolovgrad, and 55 kilometers southeast of the city of Stara Zagora at a depth of 1 km.

There are no reports of injuries and material damages.
