The governments of Bulgaria and Israel are going to hold a second joint sitting, the two countries' Foreign Ministers Nikolay Mladenov and Avigdor Lieberman have made it clear.

In July 2011, Bulgaria and Israel held the first ever joint sitting of their Cabinets in Bulgaria's capital Sofia.

For Bulgaria, this was the second time ever of holding a joint Cabinet sitting with another country after a 2010 sitting with the then Greek Cabinet; a sitting with the Romanian Cabinet followed in the fall of 2011.

For Israel, the Bulgarian-Israel Cabinet sessions was the third with a foreign country – after earlier joint sittings with the governments of Germany and Italy.

Mladenov explained in Sofia Friday that his meeting with the Israeli Foreign Minister focused on discussing the results of the first ever joint sitting of the Cabinets of Bulgaria and Israel, which took place in July 2011.

A new joint sitting is to take place later in 2012, he explained. If it materializes, Israel will become the first country with which the Bulgarian Cabinet is holding a second joint session.

Bulgaria's government is also expected to have a joint sitting with the Cabinet of Turkey.
