Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has declared that Bulgarian striker Dimitar Berbatov will not be leaving the club this summer.

"He's fit and he'll be here next year," Ferguson told reporters, as cited by ESPN.

As Wayne Rooney is out of Thursday's Europa League tie with Ajax due to a sore throat, Berbatov may get an opportunity to return in attack for the Red Devils in their Thursday Europa League encounter with Ajax.

The Bulgarian was left behind last week in England due to an injury he picked up in trainig.

Berbatov had been linked with a move away from England on numerous occasions during the January transfer window, as well as a surprise move back to Tottenham.

Dimitar Berbatov is having a tough time with the Red Devils this season, starting just five of their 24 English Premier League matches.
