Bulgaria's Foreign Affairs Minister, Nikolay Mladenov, has become the proud father of a baby girl, named Sara.

Sara was born overnight Sunday into Monday in the First Obstetrician Hospital in the capital Sofia, the largest private TV channel bTV reports Monday.

This is Mladenov's first child. He became father several months before turning 40.

Mladenov tied the knot with his girlfriend Gergana in August at the Evsinograd State Residence.

Prime Minister, Boyko Borisov, was their best man. The Maid of Honor was the rising opera star, soprano Valentina Korchakova, who is a close friend of the couple.

The guests included relatives and friends, Ministers, Members of the Parliament, diplomats, Mayor of Varna, Kiril Yordanov, his predecessor, Hristo Kirchev, and Varna Regional Governor, Dancho Simeonov.

The wedding church and civil ceremonies were held in the magnificent Evsinograd garden.

Before getting married, Nikolay and Gergana have been dating for two years, but knew each other since 2007. The couple met in Brussels when both had jobs at the European Parliament. Gergana still works there as an assistant to MEP, Vladimir Uruchev, from the ruling Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria, GERB, party.

The "Evsinograd" castle is located near the Bulgarian Black Sea capital Varna. It was a formal royal residence and is now a summer State residence.
