The missing Bulgarian boy, who was found dead over the weekend, has been sexually abused and brutally killed by a Scotsman, living in his village, the national radio reported.

Stanislav, 11, who was declared missing at the beginning of January, was found dead near the village he lived in together with his big and poor family - Lagoshevtsi, close to the town of Vidin on the Danube River. The child's body was not spared by the jackals, which inflicted it severe wounds, hindering the autopsy.

The doctors said the boy was sexually abused and stifled to death.

The suspect is a Scottish citizen, who settled in the village of Lagoshevtsi four years ago, the Bulgarian National Radio reported on Wednesday.

Earlier in the day Interior Minister Tsvetan Tsvetanov announced that a suspect has been arrested for the murder, who has made full confessions after failing the lie detector test.

The police had launched an investigation into a man, whom the mother claimed to be obsessed with the idea of adopting her child.

Stanislav's parents were also among the suspects since they had changed their version about the events on the fatal day several times.

This has been the latest in a series of teens' mysterious disappearances and gruesome deaths that have shook the country.

Earlier this month a missing 18-year-old girl from the town of Pernik, near Bulgaria's capital, was found dead, a heartbreaking turn for the relatives who cherished hopes to find her alive for whole two months.
