Bulgaria's new President Rosen Plevneliev, who was officially inaugurated on Sunday, has been congratulated by his Macedonian counterpart George Ivanov in a phone conversation.

During the conversation, Ivanov has expressed his belief that Bulgaria will continue on its successful path during Plevneliev's five-year term, while maintaining its constructive role in the region's stability and development, according to the Macedonian sky.mk.

Plevneliev and Ivanov have both agreed that the good relations between their two countries should continue and have vowed to be actively working towards that.

Rosen Plevneliev, former Bulgarian Regional Development Minister, was elected President on the ticket of the ruling, center-right Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria part (GERB) at the end of October.
