The headquarters of the new Bulgarian President, Rosen Plevneliev, who was officially inaugurated Sunday, are preparing his first official trip to Brussels.

Also on Sunday, Plevneliev met with the European Regional Policy Commissioner Johannes Hahn and the Bulgarian EU Commissioner on Humanitarian Aid and Emergency Response, Kristalina Georgieva. He thanked them for the honor of being his guests at the ceremony.

On the third day after the President enters the office on 2 "Dondukov" boulevard in downtown Sofia, he will leave for Brussels. The visit is scheduled for January 25th and 26th.

The presidential headquarters announce that during his very first trip to Europe as Head of State, Plevneliev will send a clear message to Europe that Bulgaria is part of the European family. This is precisely why he had chosen Brussels for the trip – the place where the European family meets and makes important decisions.

The new President says his goal is to impose the topic of Bulgaria 2020 as part of Europe 2020.

"This must happen because I am not only Bulgarian President, but President of a European country and in 2012, together with our partners and friends in Brussels, we will work to synchronize our priorities and our program with the European ones," Plevneliev says.
