Bulgaria's police have found the dead body of a missing eleven-year old boy, the latest in a series of teens' mysterious disappearances and gruesome deaths that have shook the country.

Stanislav, 11, who was declared missing at the beginning of January, was found dead near the village he lived in together with his big and poor family.

The police has launched an investigation into a man, whom the mother claimed to be obsessed with the idea of adopting her child.

No more details were immediately available.

Last week a missing 18-year-old girl from the town of Pernik, near Bulgaria's capital, was found dead, a heartbreaking turn for the relatives who cherished hopes to find her alive for whole two months.

Doctors said Miroslava Nikolova was brutally murdered shortly after she went missing.

The case has cast a heavy shadow over the reputation of the police, which failed to find the body for a very long time and let one of the suspected murderers commit suicide in their presence.

The approval ratings of the prime minister also got seriously dented after arrogantly praising the dog that came upon the dead, decomposed and hardly identifiable body of the girl.

The teenager disappeared on November 7, 2011. On the fatal day the girl went to her regular taekwondo training and never went back home.

Friends said she was in good spirits while in the hall and there were no signs of the tragedy that unfolded later on.

A week earlier Miroslava's sister Eleanora told bTV channel that the two had one telephone conversation. Miroslava managed to tell her sister that she was kidnapped and policemen were involved in the crime. The kidnappers however never called to set their conditions.

Instead of following this clue, the authorities insisted that the girl may have been trafficked aboard as a white slave. They even assumed that she may have fallen in love with someone who is part of a scheme for human trafficking and voluntarily fled the country, a scenario that proved to be totally out of touch with reality.
