Former MPs from the troubled Bulgarian far-right Ataka (Attack) party will create a brand new patriotic formation within a month and a half, local media revealed.

"Bulgaria First" will be the new party's most likely name, even though "Our Land" is still considered, Kiril Gumnerov, one of the Ataka dissenters, has told the Monitor daily. Some 4 or 5 former Ataka MPs will probably join the formation.

The new party will be eurosceptical, its founders have announced.

Initially, Ataka's parliamentary group consisted of 19 MPs, but a number of dissents left it with just 10 lawmakers, which is the bare minimum. Any further similar move would lead to its break-up.

In June 2011, Pavel Chernev, a former deputy chair of the far-right formation, created the Party of the Ordinary Folk. In April, another former Ataka deputy chair, Anton Sirakov, created the New Power formation. Prior to that, Ataka member and owner of the party's former mouthpiece, the Skat TV station, Valeri Simeonov, founded his National Front for Saving Bulgaria.
