The Bulgarian National Revenue Agency, NRA, launched Tuesday a personal identification number, PIN, to be used by citizens and companies for references and inquiries in the electronic system.

By using the PIN, and without the need of an electronic signature, everyone will be able to check if their employer had registered their labor contract; how many hours are listed for their workday, and based on what amounts their social security and other contributions are being made.

NRA agents point out that they expect some to be surprised to find out they had worked for years part time on paper, while they actually work full time, saying such individual will face significant hurdles upon deciding to go on retirement.

The PIN will be issued free of charge, but everyone requesting it must appear in person at NRA headquarters. The safekeeping of the code, which gives access to a large amount of data, is everyone's personal responsibility.

Those, who find discrepancies and violations, can inform NRA and the later will do a probe of the respective business.
