Bulgaria Boosts Exports to Non-EU Countries Jan-Nov 2011

Bulgaria's exports to non-EU countries increased by 26.5% year on year in the period January - November 2011, exceeding BGN 13.5 B, according to preliminary data released by the country's National Statistical Institute.

Bulgaria's main trade partners outside the bloc in that period were Turkey, Russia, Serbia, Macedonia, Ukraine, China and the US that together formed 53.0% of the total exports to non EU countries.

The country's exports to South Africa, Canada, India and Egypt increased significantly, while the largest decreases were reported on the exports to Singapore, Syria, Peru and Vietnam.

In November 2011, Bulgaria's exports to non-EU countries increased by 6.7% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year and exceeded EUR 1.1 B.

Bulgaria's imports from non-EU countries in the first eleven months of 2011 increased by 21.8% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year and amounted to BGN 17.1 B at CIF prices.

The most significant growths were reported on Bulgaria's imports from Kazakhstan, Singapore, the United Arab Emirates and South Korea.  The largest decreases were observed in the imports from Peru, Iran and Vietnam.

In November 2011, the Bulgarian imports from non-EU countries increased by 7.4% year on year, reaching BGN 1.7 B

Bulgaria's foreign trade balance with non-EU countries (export FOB - import CIF) in the period January - November 2011 was negative and reached BGN 3551.6. M.

The largest Bulgarian export growths in the period were recorded in the sections "Crude materials, inedible (except fuel)", "Animal and vegetable oils, fats and waxes" and "Mineral fuels, lubricants and related materials".

The largest growths in imports from non-EU countries were reported in section "Chemical and related products", "Manufactured goods classified chiefly by material" and "Mineral fuels, lubricants and related materials"
