Bulgarian Tennis Star Dimitrov Defeats Mardy Fish

The best Bulgarian male tennis player Grigor Dimitrov won against world number eight Mardy Fish of the US.

Dimitrov upset Fish in just 2-0 sets (6:2, 6:1) and in less than an hour.

The news was reported Friday by the Bulgarian National Television (BNT).

This was a match from the group stage of the tournament Hompan Cup. With it Dimitrov managed to achieve an even score in the competition for the second place between Bulgaria and the US.

Earlier Friday, Bulgarian top female tennis player Tsvetana Pironkova lost 4:6, 4:6 from Betani Matek-Sands.

Bulgaria's young male tennis star quickly outplayed and defeated his famous opponent and in just fifteen minutes already had a lead of 4-0 in the first set.

This is the first victory of Grigor over a top 10 player in the world.

Dimitrov, 19, is from the southern Bulgarian city of Haskovo.
