The psychiatric evaluation of Anders Behring Breivik at a press conference at an Oslo Police station, Norway, 29 November 2011.

Experts have claimed that Norwegian mass murderer Anders Behring Breivik is not insane after all, it emerged on Thursday.

A team of experts who have monitored Breivik's behavior in prison have reached the conclusion that he is not psychotic, contrary to the statement made earlier by the two court-appointed psychiatrists.

The original report said the 32 year-old Norwegian lived in his "own delusional universe where all his thoughts and acts are guided by his delusions".

If found guilty on terrorism charges, he would be placed in psychiatric care rather than in prison, BBC remarks. The court is expected to decide within the next few weeks whether or not to order a new psychiatric evaluation.

Meanwhile, the Norwegian Dagbladet has reported that local police authorities are investigating a potential Belorussian connection to the July 22 terror attacks in Oslo and Utoeya. In the first days after the tragedy, it was reported that Breivik may have received military training in Belarus.

Possible Breivik links are investigated in a total of 16 countries: Germany, Latvia, Poland, France, the USD, England, Sweden, Switzerland, India, Denmark, Antigua and Barbuda, Belarus, Finland, Serbia, Russia and Lithuania.
