Romanian Tourists Sweep Bulgarian Black Sea Resorts for New Year'sThousands of Romanians have chosen to celebrate New Year's Eve at Bulgarian Black Sea resorts, according to hotel owners.

Those hotels at the Bulgarian seaside resorts that did not close for the winter have been almost 100% booked with their New Year's packages.

The overwhelming majority of the bookings belong to Romanian tourists, with the number of Bulgarians actually declining compared with last year, the bTV channel reported citing hospitality business representatives.

Few of the thousands of hotels along Bulgaria's Black Sea coast are opened all year round but those who are offer all inclusive packages for the winter holidays as well.

Three-day packages for New Year's usually cost between EUR 120 and EUR 180 per person, with five-day packages at luxury spa hotels reaching EUR 400.

Some of the hotels offer one-night packages – only for New Year's Eve – which cost about EUR 50.

Since 2008-2009, Bulgaria's Black Sea resorts usually get about 1 million Romanian tourists annually.
