Tough Battles Rage in Novinite.com 'Personality in the News' 2011 Polls

Very tough races are in progress in the annual "Personality in the News" polls of Novinite.com (Sofia News Agency) and Novinite.bg.

Two weeks into our campaign to select Buglaria's most worthy personalities for 2011, we are already eager to thank you, our readers from around the world, for your enthusiastic voting!

According to the votes cast by you, our readers, none of the three races exhibits a certain winner for the time, with the neck-in-neck competition apparently set to continue until the very end of the voting campaign in January 2012.

The race is especially tough and exciting among the expats, with CEZ Bulgaria Chairman Petr Dokladal being in the lead with 44.52% of the votes, as of Friday, December 23, followed by M-Tel CEO Andreas Mayerhofer with 33.66% of the votes. They are followed by Heineken-Zagorka General Manager Ruud van den Eijnden, AES Bulgaria Country Manager Peter Lithgow, and Sheraton Sofia Hotel Balkan General Manager Gerasimos Perdikaris.

Chairman of Deloitte Bulgaria Vasko Raychev is in the lead in the Bulgarian Business category with 44.95%, with OMV Bulgaria Manager Director Teodora Georgieva a close second with 29.77%. They are followed by UniCredit Bulbank CEO Levon Hampartzoumian, General Manager of HP Bulgaria Iravan Hira, and Metro Cash & Carry Bulgaria General Manager Emiliyan Abadzhiev.

The race is pretty tough among the Bulgarian political figures as well. According to your votes, after two weeks of voting, ex EU Commissioner and former presidential candidate Meglena Kuneva is in the lead with 39.18% vs. 35% of the votes for the Bulgarian President-elect Rosen Plevneliev. They are followed by Bulgarian EU Funds Minister Tomislav Donchev, MEP Antonia Parvanov, and Bulgarian Socialist Party leader and PES President Sergey Stanishev.
