Prime Minister Boyko Borisov has appointed two new Deputy Justice Ministers, Velina Todorova and Denitsa Valkova-Petkova.

They will replace the outgoing Daniela Masheva and Zhaneta Petrova, who have filed their resignations.

Two weeks ago, Hristo Angelov, the third Deputy Justice Minister on the team of former Justice Minister and Vice-President-Elect Margarita Popova, stepped down, saying that the new Justice Minister, Diana Kovacheva, had the right to choose the people she would be working with.

On Monday, Prime Minister Borisov appointed Appellate Prosecutor Plamen Dimitrov in Angelov's place.

Diana Kovacheva, 36, was appointed Justice Minister in the place of Margarita Popova, who was elected Vice President in October on the ticket of the ruling, center-right Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria party (GERB).

Prior to assuming the ministerial post, Kovacheva had been the executive director of Transparency without Borders, the Bulgarian unit of Transparency International.
