Wednesday night saw another three cars torched in Bulgaria's capital.

According to reports from the local police, two vehicles were set ablaze in the Lyulin residential district before midnight.

At around 03.30 a.m., an Isuzu Trooper SUV went up in flames in the Druzhba residential district.

After two months of car arsons across Sofia, local police forces arrested Wednesday evening 63 people on a variety of suspicions, including having plastic bottles of gasoline in their vehicles.

Prime Minister Boyko Borisov called for adequate legal changes, saying that the current legal framework did not contain any text on the basis of which these suspects could be detained.

Interior Minister Tsvetan Tsvetanov suggested that the car burnings could be linked to organized crime, which was also to blame for the overall destabilization of the capital.

In the course of two months, Sofia saw scores of car arsons.

Police forces have so far failed to confirm if the accidents are related.

On December 14, the wave of arsons spread beyond Sofia, with three vehicles burnt down in Burgas, one in Karnobat, two in the village of Kitanchevo, Razgrad municipality, and one in the village of Sokolite.

Police are still working on the cases.
