Major Bulgarian winemakers will gather on November 19-20, 2011, for the first edition of DiVino.Taste – the new Bulgarian Wine Forum.

The opening of DiVino.Taste will take place in the Grand Ballroom of the Central Military Club in Sofia to show that they are ready for the competition in the New World.

"Nearly 40 manufacturers of quality Bulgarian wine will show that they have learned the lessons of the past," the organizers of the event told Novinite.com (Sofia News Agency).

The first edition of the DiVino.Taste forum comes after several boom years for wine in Bulgaria, they pointed out.

"After the fall of the Berlin Wall wine production in the country hit a rock bottom. However, at the beginning of the 21st century massive plantings of new vineyards began, which was further promoted after the accession of Bulgaria to the EU. Five years later Bulgarian winemakers firmly believe that they have something to show not only to the Bulgarian audience, but to the world as well," the organizers of the new Bulgarian Wine Forum explained.

The visitors of DiVino.Taste will have the opportunity to taste over 200 sorts of wine from Bulgaria and will be able to meet and talk to people who create modern Bulgarian wine.

The exhibition is open to both established experts and wine industry professionals, and the general public of wine lovers.

The idea of the organizers "is not only to make wine more understandable, but also to show that Bulgaria is ready to regain her rightful place on the world wine scene."

Besides the exhibition area with tastings, the program of DiVino.Taste includes master classes, seminars and lectures. Leading experts are invited to participate and meet the Bulgarian Wine Society.

More information on the program and registration for the first DiVino.Taste forum is available HERE.
