The sister and flatmate of two Bulgarian men accused of shooting and killing a millionaire businessman in Scotland last year have taken the witness stand at the High Court in Edinburgh.

Bulgarians Tencho Andonov, 28, and Deyan Nikolov, 27, and Mo Siddique, 42, all deny killing Siddique's brother Toby.

Tsvetlina Andonova told the court she spoke to her brother Tencho twice by phone on 29 October 2010, BBC reported.

Toby Siddique, 38, was shot dead in Glenrothes, Fife, five days earlier.

Tsvetlina said her brother was supposed to fly back to Bulgaria to deal with the aftermath of a supposed car crash involving his girlfriend and her father.

But he failed to tell her whether he had actually travelled in the days after she bought him his plane ticket.

Andonov further claims that at the time of the shooting he was in a parked car in Glenrothes.

Nikolov's alibi claims he was at home in Kirkcaldy, Fife.

Nikolov's flatmate Krasmir Peev, 24, a Bulgarian immigrant, said he worked as a pizza delivery worker in Kirkcaldy, Fife, and did not know anything about criminals from abroad who operate in Scotland.

He has denied allegations that he had links to eastern European criminals.

Peev told the court he came to work in Scotland as a pizza delivery worker three years ago because he could not find work in his native country.

The trial continues.
