Turkish club Galatasaray have unexpectedly moved fairly close to snapping up Manchester United's unsettled Bulgarian forward Dimitar Berbatov, Turkish media have stated.

The striker is among Galatasaray's "certain" signings during the upcoming summer transfer window, the Kanalturk TV channel has claimed.

According to Turkish online media, Berbatov may be sold to Galatasaray for EUR 8 M. The Turkish giants were among the many European clubs linked with the Bulgarian in the summer of 2010.

Berbatov's contract with the Red Devils expires next summer and he is almost certainly leaving Old Trafford soon.

The prolific striker has been out of Manchester United's pecking order for a while now, with the likes of Javier Hernandez, Danny Welbeck and Wayne Rooney leaving him virtually no chances to shine.

The likes of Valencia, PSG, Bayern Munich and Inter Milan are said to be interested in signing the 30-year old Bulgarian. It was recently reported that Manchester United consider offering him in a swap deal aiming to land Schalke's Dutch forward Klaas-Jan Huntelaar.
