Vladmira Yaneva, whose appointment as Chair of the Sofia City Court, was overturned by Bulgaria's Supreme Administrative Court (VAS) vows to appeal the rule.

Yaneva spoke for the Bulgarian news agency BTA in the aftermath of earlier reports that VAS had overturned her controversial appointment by the Supreme Judicial Council's (VSS).

A three-member VAS panel ruled in favor of the other candidate for the post, Velichka Tsanova, who filed the claim. The rule, however, was signed by only two of the three judges in the panel. The third one had refused to put his signature and had withdrawn from the case.

The VAS decision is now being appealed before a five-member VAS panel, which is the last and highest instance to rule in the case.
