Bulgarian Prime Minister, Boyko Borisov, lied in announcing that he had received congratulations on his victory in election night from the leader of the far-right, nationalist Ataka party, Volen Siderov.

The statement was made by Siderov, himself, in a letter sent to the media Tuesday.

In the letter, the nationalist leader declares that he never congratulated Borisov in writing or verbally for the "so-called presidential race," mainly because he sees the results as being forged.

"There is no way I can congratulate a fake such as Rosen Plevneliev, who was acclaimed as the country's new president," Siderov writes.

He further reiterates his demand for a manual recount of the ballots and the protocols from the October 23 first round and the October 30 runoff of the presidential elections and for the recall of the results.

Siderov appeals to officials to behave "manly" and stop twisting the truth for their own political gains.
