Bulgaria has granted Turkey BGN 26 982 (approximately EUR 14 000) worth of humanitarian aid after the disastrous earthquake that shook the neighboring Balkan country on October 23.

Bulgaria's humanitarian aid includes 100 relief tents for winter conditions. The organization of the humanitarian aid is delegated to the Bulgarian Interior Ministry, it has been announced.

If necessary, the Bulgarian Interior Ministry is ready to provide 50 additional tents, 42 wagons adapted for winter conditions, 1000 woolen blankets and 300 rubber-coated beddings.

The death toll of the 7.2 magnitude earthquake that hit eastern Turkey on October 23 has already climbed over 600.

As temperatures in the eastern Turkish province of Van are dipping to below freezing, survivors face a serious lack of tents and heaters.
