Incumbent Sofia Mayor Votes for 'Positive Change'

Yordanka Fandakova, the incumbent mayor of Bulgaria's capital Sofia who is running for a second term, cast her vote on Sunday together with her husband and son.

"I voted for a positive change in our city, for the rapid progress we already see and that should continue by all means," Fandakova declared upon voting.

The incumbent mayor said she was delighted by the high voting activity in her district and pointed out that Sofianites have always been active in their city's administration. She added she would spend the rest of the Election Day with her family.

Fandakova is the strong front-runner in pre-election polls, with Bulgarian Socialist Party candidate Georgi Kadiev remaining second,

Proshko Proshkov, candidate of the rightist Blue Coalition, is expected to finish third..
