Serious Chain Crash in Downtown Sofia Leaves Four Injured

A serious chain reaction crash has occurred in downtown Sofia.

Tram #12 was hit in the rear by Tram # 10 near the Patriarch Evtimiy monument at around 14:30 p.m on Thursday afternoon.

A passing by fixed-route taxi was also hit after the rear-end tram collision.

The chain traffic accident at the crossing of Patriarch Evtimii Boulevard and Vassil Levski Boulevard resulted in injuries for the people traveling in a car that was behind the taxi.

Two women were reported to be in critical condition after the serious traffic accident.

The chain crash left four wounded, including a mother who had her baby with her on the minibus taxi.

Fixed-route taxi # 35 had 10 passengers on board at the time of the crash.

According to witnesses' reports, Tram # 10 crossed a red light, hit a fixed-route taxi and then collided with Tram #12.

The vehicle traveling behind the fixed-route taxi got torn in two, leaving the passengers in the car injured.

Police have sealed off traffic in the area.
