Sofia Imposes Ban on Alcohol Sales on Election Day

There is an order banning sale and serving of alcoholic beverages on Election Day on the entire territory of Bulgaria's capital Sofia.

The order was issued Tuesday by the Sofia City Hall.

The ban is effective from 6 am to 8 pm only for October 23 and involves all stores and establishments selling alcohol. It does not pertain to wholesales and to restaurants where there have been planned weddings, baptisms, funerals and other similar events.
