The goal of the Movement of Rights and Freedoms in upcoming municipal elections in Bulgaria is to score major wins and to pave the way for pre-term parliamentary elections, stated leader Ahmed Dogan.

"We can see that [ruling center-right party] GERB has a nill capacity to rule and that what they are doing is plain out dangerous for Bulgaria," said Dogan in the Yablanovo village near southern city of Sliven.

"Even our enemies know that our Movement can rule Bulgaria. We have a very well prepared team, so we need to be given this opportunity," stated the controversial leader of the liberal party, which traditionally has the strong support of large segments of Bulgaria's sizeable ethnic Turkish minority.

During his campaign tour last week, DoganĀ  had made similar statements, slamming PM Boyko Borisov's party for incompetence and arguing that the Movement is the party in Bulgaria best prepared for governance.

"I can see that after the elections GERB will receive a grand slap in the face that will force them out from government forever," said Dogan then to local supporters in the town of Dulovo.

"Our main goal in October 23 local elections is to win and to create a the preconditions for snap parliamentary elections in Bulgaria," stated Dogan Saturday in Yablanovo.

Earlier Saturday in north-eastern town of Opaka the Movement for Rights and Freedoms said that the party is prepared to even send its representative to work in the European Commission, something that according to him is bound to happen in the near future.
