Bulgarians need more jobs and more equal development among the country's regions, stated Lyubomir Hristov, running mate of ex-EU Commissioner Meglena Kuneva for Bulgaria's October 23 presidential elections.

Speaking in an interview for Darik Radio, Hristov said that if elected he would use his background as an economist to propose policies for the boosting of economic life in the country, but he would also aid Kuneva in creating an opproach of openness to all Bulgarian citizens.

"More justice, more equality, less privileges is what Bulgaria needs," said the former banker, who together with the former European Commissioner were nominated by a non-partisan committee of citizens.

"The problem that most worries people here is the lack of work and low incomes, so we better press on that," said Hristov.

He also added that according to him more often than not the voice of people from Bulgaria's regions is not heard in capital Sofia and that his presidential tandem will work to mend that situation.
