EC President Barroso to Visit Bulgarian EU-funded Facilities

The President of the European Commission, Jose Manuel Barroso, is going to visit Bulgaria in a week.

Barroso will be in Bulgaria on October 13, EC has confirmed, according to the Wednesday news broadcast of the Bulgarian National Radio, BNR.

The EC President will meet with Bulgarian Prime Minister, Boyko Borisov. He will also tour infrastructure and facilities, which have been built with EU funding.

Barroso's trip is in connection with the extended meeting of the European People Party, EPP, leadership, which will be held in Sofia. The President of the European Parliament, Jerzy Buzek, will attend the meeting as well.

The EC President is going to travel to Bulgaria in the company of the EU Commissioners on Financial Programming and Budget, Janusz Lewandowski, and on Regional Policy, Johannes Hahn.
