Frustrated Libyans Protest New Rulers in Benghazi

Fresh protests broke out in Libyan rebel city of Bengazhi, with people requesting deeper reforms by the National Transitional Council which ousted long-time leader Muammar Gaddafi.

Anti-Gaddafi protests in Libya over the spring and summer were the strongest in Benghazi, which quickly fell under anti-Gaddafi control and became a stronghold of the rebel Council.

Now the NTC is criticized by Libyans who supported it as not effecting sufficient reforms and not meeting people's expectations.

Protesters have called Council members "abusers" and "thieves," and slammed them for just taking advantage of their new leadership positions.

Frustrated Libyans have also objected to the presence of persons related to the Gaddafi regime in the National Transitional Council, including leader Mahmoud Jibril.
