Ruling Party Presidential Hopeful: I Know the Problems of Bulgaria's Regions

Bulgaria's Regional Development Minister Rosen Plevneliev sees his through acquaintance with the problems of all corners of Bulgaria as making him an especially strong presidential candidate.

Sunday afternoon it was officially confirmed at a GERB ruling party press conference that Plevneliev will be the party's candidate for elections set to be held October 23.

"As a minister, I have come to know the problems and the projects of all different regions of our country," said Plevneliev at his nomination.

He vowed to work for the development of all regions of the country and to aid in bringing it to prosperity.

Plevneliev also added that he has had the chance to win the strong esteem of Bulgaria's EU partners, which gives an additional boost to his candidacy.
