Brazil's Bulgaria-descended President Dilma Rousseff may visit the Balkan country in October, it was revealed Friday.

There is still no official date confirmed for the visit, but details will be announced during the next couple of weeks, it was made clear after Bulgaria's Foreign Minister Nikolay Mladenov met his Brazilian counterpart Antonio Patriota.

Patriota and Mladenov declared that Brazil and Bulgaria are much closer now than before, adding that Rousseff's visit will result in a greater collaboration between the two countries in the spheres of trade, healthcare and education.

Rousseff, the daughter of a Bulgarian immigrant Petar Rusev (Pedro Rousseff), took office on January 1, 2011.

While in Sofia, Antonio Patriota, a key member of Rousseff's administration, prefered not to comment on whether Brazil would recognize Libya's Transitional National Council as the country's legitimate authority.

"We do not want to state our position on the issue now. We have sent representatives in Tripoli, as well as Benghazi," he said.
